We call our product a system because it’s much more than just a keg washer. Yes it automatically cleans 3 kegs up to ½ BBL. But isn’t a fermenter just a big keg? And a growler just a small keg? And tap line just a long skinny kegs? Yes of course. So BDC has developed a multi CIP machine that can clean all these items.
I have been involved in dozens of brewery builds and after years of interaction with my clients it is obvious that one machine can’t satisfy all brewers, they all have their own philosophy on cleaning and they all use different chemicals so a multi-functional product is what the market needs. Using the PLC to adjust pump speed from full power for automatic fermenter CIP possesses and lower speeds for lower pressure washing of kegs and BDC’s 9 growler washing accessory and even lower pressure for tap line cleaning. We have developed the ultimate automatic CIP machine that will satisfy all brewer needs.
Our keg washer unit is designed to rinse, caustic wash, sanitize and pressurize kegs. The unit is controlled with our custom PLC controller and is fully programmable to each client’s needs. In general, the sequence of steps involved in the automatic washing include:
- Rinsing kegs with water and air to discharge possible product leftover
- Caustic wash kegs and recover the caustic solution
- Rinsing with water and air
- Sanitize and recover the solution combined with CO2
- Pressurize the kegs with CO2
